About Chair

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Chair established in Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, started functioning since January 01, 2021. The major objectives of the chair are; (i) to provide well equipped centre of learning to intellectuals, academicians and students (ii) to undertake research on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar (iii) to hold seminars/conferences/lectures/discussions on ideology of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and to publish the proceedings in the form of books etc. (iv) to purchase the printed material/books about Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and place it on the shelves of library of the university so as increase its readability.
Since January 1, 2021 to till June, 2024 the chair had published two books, 14 research articles in Journals and 10 chapters in books. Total 5 seminars had been organized alongwith 15 invited talks delivered on various aspects of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's ideology. The chair plans to continue research on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar vigorously.

About Chairperson

Dr. Kuldip Kaur, Professor in Economics and Chairperson Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Chair in Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar has 35 years of teaching and research experience. Her areas of interest are Indian Economic Problems and Industrial Economics. She has supervised 20 Ph.D theses and 05 M.Phil. dissertations. She has successfully completed 12 minor/major research projects.
More than 100 research articles in international/national journals and 25 chapters in various books had been published by her. Five books (Two on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar) had been published and 12 seminars/conferences had been organized by her. She is life member of various bodies at national level.
